Ease of Use


If there were a more user friendly machine out there, it would in no way compare to the Provo Craft Cricut with regards to features and usability. From opening the package to knowing the ins and outs of this machine, this paper crafter took less than an hour of child interrupted time. Each machine comes with the George and Basic Shapes cartridge binder.

To get started you will need (all included in your Cricut Box) the machine, the power cord, your George or other font cartridge and keypad overlay, a cutting mat, a cutting blade and paper. To help avoid mishaps or wasted paper, the Cricut Tool Accessories are also recommended but not required. The accessory kits are generally sold separately.

Once these items are located, the easy to read instructions and the "Quick Start Guide" will guide you through setting the pressure, size and every other cutting options you might need. Quick step videos are also available on the Cricut website to help you along the way. No need for a computer, no changing out dies 35 times to spell the word Supercalifragillisticexpialidocious, if you can type it, you can print it.

Durability


The Provo Craft Cricut Personal Electronic Cutter has been specially designed to withstand normal wear and tear and come out shining! Each machine has parts that will need to be replaced as you use your Cricut machine to its full potential. The Cricut cutting blades and cutting mats are less expensive parts and need to be replaced over time and are comparable to the replacement pads and cutting pads of other diecut machines. Not replacing these items can result in non-clean cuts, torn paper, or uneven cuts if the paper slips around on the overused cutting mat. Each cutting mat can endure hundreds of cuts depending on the size and shape of the cut and a blade even longer that that, so replacing these items will not be a burden.

Provo Craft has taken courses to allow updates to be made to your machines if these are needed in the future. The USB port on the rear of the Cricut Machine is included on the diecut machine for this purpose if it ever becomes necessary.

Optional Features/Equipment


The Provo Craft Cricut is the ultimate diecut machine and then some. The options on this machine are absolutely unheard of compared to other diecut machines on the market. Rather than being limited to a specific size of a diecut as with conventional dies, the Provo Craft Cricut allows you to cut each shape or letter in any size from 0.5" to 5.5"!!! Imagine all the possibilities!

In addition to the size variations, each letter is available to cut with "creative features". These features include, but are not limited to shadows, trapezoids, round shapes, cartoon, tags, puzzle pieces, tiles, notebook, charms, silhouettes, end caps, cards, matchbooks, apples, awards, lockers, frames, clips, and bookplates between all the font cartridges.

Each Cricut Personal Diecut Machine comes with the George and Basic Shapes cartridge. With over 30 additional cartridges, totes, papers, and tools, your Cricut collection is almost overwhelming... almost. Even with all these cartridges somehow you still crave for more. Portability


Provo Craft's design of the Cricut Electronic Diecutter was very well planned and carried out to allow paper crafters the most creative bang for their buck. The Cricut Machine is highly portable and even includes a handy flip up carrying handle. The Cricut weighs just about 12 pounds and although is somewhat heavier than some of the other diecut machine varieties on the market, factor in the weight balance of the machine, the handle and easy storage and this machine has earned a four star rating.

Because the Cricut Personal Cutter is an electronic device, it does require a power outlet to plug into. The included power cord is about 6 feet long to allow ample length to reach to the work surface of your choosing.

Storage items like the Cricut Tote only increases this item's portability and allow you to look stylish while taking full advantage of the tool you will absolutely LOVE.
