Introducing CRICUT DESIGNSTUDIO

At CHA Summer in Chicago we are previewing our new CRICUT DESIGNSTUDIO (USB technology) Cricut DesignStudio is a new software program that allows you to explore, design, and cut your own customized Cricut designs.

Cricut DesignStudio is a natural add-on to any Cricut machine or cartridge sale. It allows customers to explore the font and shape sets in the cartridge collection, making the software a valuable way to sell additional Cricut products.

Cricut DesignStudio opens the door to undiscovered Cricut possibilities with the simple click of a mouse. This exciting software is a welcome addition to the trusted Cricut brand. It is easy to install and use and allows customers a fun new way to explore their creativity. Using an onscreen cutting mat, customers can create their own unique mat layout. What they see on their computer screen is what the Cricut machine cuts.

Cricut DesignStudio allows users to explore and create cutting designs using any of the thousands of letters, shapes, and phrases found in the Cricut cartridge library. Using keywords, customers can quickly find what they’re looking for. This gives customers hands-on experience with all of the Cricut cartridge content before purchasing or cutting.

This innovative software brings the Cricut designs to their own craft studio, letting them transform cutting layouts by reorganizing, rotating, resizing, skewing, and welding the letters, shapes, and phrases found on any of the Cricut cartridges. Layouts can be easily saved and shared with friends.

Cricut DesignStudio allows customers to select their cutting options directly within the program. To cut their designs, customers simply insert the Cricut cartridge(s) into their machine and press cut. It’s that easy!

Provo Craft will be providing the Cricut DesignStudio software in a special bonus pack. This includes a specially designed 10-foot Cricut connection cable, a cricut mouse pad, and a Getting Started guide.

Provo Craft® Releases Cuttlekids™ Dies and Storage Binder, New Die Cutting Products Designed Just for Children

Spanish Fork, UT—July 19, 2007—Provo Craft and Novelty, Inc., leading die cutting manufacturer, introduces 40 Cuttlekids™ dies and a Cuttlekids storage binder at the Craft & Hobby Association (CHA) Summer Convention & Trade Show July 20–22, 2007. The designer dies and storage binder are key accessories for the Cuttlekids Shape Maker, a new die cutter for children.

The Cuttlekids die cutting system lets children safely craft alongside their parents, cutting out exciting letters and shapes in seconds. The Cuttlekids dies are used to cut paper, cardstock, and craft foam in the Cuttlekids Shape Maker, creating fun cutouts for craft projects, toys, and school projects. The Cuttlekids cutting dies are available in a variety of styles and themes with artwork children will love. Each die measures 2" x 2.25" and is covered with foam on the cutting side to protect children from the sharp edges.

The 40 Cuttlekids dies include:

Provo Craft® Pleases Its Youngest Consumers with New Cuttlekids™ Shape Maker

Spanish Fork, UT—July 19, 2007—Provo Craft and Novelty, Inc., creator of the innovative Cuttlebug™ Die Cutter and Embosser™, proudly introduces the Cuttlekids™ Shape Maker. This die cutting system is a revolutionary set designed just for children with coordinating, kid-friendly dies.

Children can now craft alongside mom and dad with their own set of safe tools. The colorful machine and the fun cutting dies make the Cuttlekids products at home in the craft aisle or the toy aisle.

The Cuttlekids Shape Maker machine is small and compact, measuring approximately 21.2 cm x 9.6 cm x 11.45 cm. The purple and green machine has a handle on the side and a roller opening in the front for manual feeding. A child simply needs to load the cutting pad, paper, and cutting die in the opening and turn the handle to roll the stack through. The roller opening also has a clear plastic guard to protect small fingers.

Cricut Colors

Cricut Color™ Inks (markers) expand the possibilities and versatility of the Cricut. You will be able to use the Cricut cartridges in conjunction with your inks to draw your favorite shapes! Cricut Color Inks will be shown at this summer’s CHA show in Chicago. More details including colors, availability, and pricing will be available at that time. The Cricut Color Inks are the same size, and are interchangeable with the blade housing. Simply remove the blade housing, and insert the marker! It’s just that easy.

Cricut™ Cartridges Featuring Disney Characters Make Magic at Winter CHA

Provo Craft®, the innovator of the Cricut™ cutting line, is proud to present two new Cricut™ cartridges featuring some of your favorite Disney characters. One font cartridge and one shape cartridge will be officially released at the Craft and Hobby Association (CHA) Winter Convention and Trade Show in Anaheim, California.

The Disney character Cricut™ cartridges are a welcome addition to the current collection of Cricut™ cartridges. The Disney character cartridges can be used in the original Cricut™ Personal Electronic Cutter™ and the new Cricut Expression™ machine, making Disney your creative inspiration for cutting letters, shapes, and phrases as small as 0.25" and as large as 23.5".

The Cricut™ Mickey Font cartridge includes a complete alphabet, six characters, Mickey ears, and trademark text like “MICKEY MOUSE,” “GAWRSH!” and “Disney.” The six features on the cartridge allow for both lowercase and uppercase letters, Mickey tags, charms, silhouettes, shadows, and creative end caps to make tags like tickets, license plates, and dog bones.

Cricut Product Roadmap Update

We would like to thank you for your interest and inquiries regarding the Cricut™ Personal Electronic Cutter™. Provo Craft recognizes the importance of creating innovative products that allow you to express yourself in creative new ways. It has come to our attention that a recent message board posting has generated interest regarding the future development of the Cricut™ Personal Electronic Cutter™. In an effort to maintain Cricut’s market leadership and innovation, there are certain details regarding new product development that Provo Craft is unable to disclose. Please be assured that Provo Craft will continue to support the current model of the Cricut™ machine while we build and expand upon all the creative and innovative options that are available.

We realize Cricut™ cartridge content is critical to creativity and expression. In addition, we also recognize that you, our customers, have invested your time and money in making Cricut™ the best and most popular personal electronic cutter on the market. Therefore, it is our intent to maintain cartridge compatibility with future Cricut™ products.

In addition to further Cricut™ machine development, there have also been many inquiries regarding the USB port on the back of the Cricut™ Personal Electronic Cutter™. Please be advised that the USB port currently allows our service center and engineers to test and update the machine. We know that there has been much speculation and anticipation regarding the future use of this USB port and the possible connection to your personal computer. Provo Craft and its development team have spent much time considering the feasibility and the benefits to you, our customer, should we decide to pursue a PC solution for the Cricut™. At this time, however, we cannot confirm any connectivity capabilities between the Cricut™ Personal Electronic Cutter™ and your PC.

New Cricut Cartridges Announced

As you know, Cricut™ is aggressively pursuing the continuous production and release of new cartridge sets. We promised you we would let you know of approaching new product releases as they come. Well my fellow Cricuteers, here it is! Cricut™ is proud to announce the upcoming release of six new exciting and innovative Cricut™ cartridge sets: New Arrival, Paper Pups, Printing Press, Zooballoo, Opposites Attract, and Walk in My Garden.

We will be providing more details and examples over the next few weeks leading up to their official uncovering at the Memory Trends trade show in Las Vegas this October. These new sets will be available on shelves in November or even late October.
